What the numbers mean.

The Cut helps choose a test. It does not forecast your business or connect to live accounts.

The calculation

Expected buyers = visits × each stage’s conversion rate.
Contribution = buyers × (revenue per buyer − variable cost per buyer) − acquisition spend.
Experiment lift = changed contribution − baseline contribution.
Lift per hour = experiment lift ÷ your estimated work hours.

Each stage rate uses the previous stage as its denominator. Targets are absolute percentages, not relative lifts. Extra cash cost is deducted once from the experiment. Fractional buyers are expected values.

What’s not in the model

Fixed overhead, tax, refunds, repeat purchases, capacity limits and the cash value of your time. Improving one stage can change other stages in reality; this model holds them fixed. A high return per hour is not proof that a target is attainable.
